I am very small. My height is that of the average 11/12 year old and my body has not matured very much. I purchased this cup before I even got my first period, because I always knew I wanted to use a cup after reading about all the benefits. When I first received my cup, I wanted to try it so I would be prepared for when I got my period. I spent hours trying to insert it and I couldn’t. I was in a lot of pain and my vagina was burning. I even started crying at one point. THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE! Later on I found out you shouldn't insert the cup when you're not on your period, because it makes it much more difficult when the walls of your vagina are more dry. A few months later when I was 15 (March 2019) I got my first period, and I was ready to try again. Again, I spent hours trying to insert the cup and I was unsuccessful. I watched many videos and tried many different techniques, but nothing was working for me, until I came across this video: https://youtu.be/Voqd8e8aaBs. This was the only technique that worked for me, and I actually cried tears of joy when I finally got it in. When it was time to take it out again I was having a lot of difficulty. After about an hour of trying, I was getting very scared, because it is dangerous to leave it in too long. I again started watching many videos, and I was still unsuccessful, until I watched this video by the same girl (https://youtu.be/9ER80bNu_eM). This was again the only technique that worked for me, and again I cried tears of joy when I finally got it out! After that I got used to inserting and removing, but I was having trouble with leaking. I had to wear pads and for my first few periods, but now , 8 periods later, I have mastered the menstrual cup. It takes time and patience but once you get the hang of it it will be so worth it. Don't worry about your vagina being "too small" for the cup, because I have an extremely small vagina and I am a virgin as well and if I can do it then so can you!
